Scaling an owner-led business in Ireland has its own set of problems
Ireland is a small market. That shapes almost everything about how a business here grows, and about what it does to the person running it.
You reach the ceiling of the domestic market sooner than you expected to. Growth from there means the UK, Europe or the US, which is a different business to the one you built.
Most Irish businesses at this level are still built around one person. You. Which usually means the constraint on the business is you as well.
And it is a small country. Everyone knows everyone, so there are very few people you can talk to honestly about any of it.
That last one is usually why people get in touch.
Things are working. So why does it feel heavier than it should?
The business is solid. You employ people. You are respected in your sector. On paper this is what you set out to build.
But the pressure never fully switches off. Decisions take more energy than they used to. You are involved in everything, and you cannot picture a version of the business where you are not.
You do not need more information, more motivation, or another strategy document.
You need space to think, an honest second perspective, and someone with no stake in the room to help you see what you cannot see from inside it.
That is where I come in.
My role is not to tell you what to do. You are perfectly capable of deciding. It is to help you get clear enough to decide well, and to stop carrying things that do not need carrying.
I’m Irish. I’ve Built and Sold Businesses Here.
I’m Irish. I built and sold businesses before I did this work, and I have spent the last two decades working alongside founders and owner-operators, a good number of them here in Ireland.
From the outside things often looked successful. Inside it was a different story. The pressure never fully switched off. Decisions carried weight. Life became increasingly full, but not always increasingly fulfilling.
The lesson I took from it is the one most of my clients arrive with: you can build something substantial and still feel disconnected from it. You can run a profitable business and quietly lose sight of what you wanted from it in the first place.
My work has been featured in the Irish Independent, RTÉ and Business & Finance, and I work with founders across Ireland, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the US.
My role isn’t to tell you what to do. It’s to help you see clearly, reconnect with what’s true for you, and remove what’s getting in the way so you can move forward with confidence.
Not by becoming somebody else. By becoming more of who you already are.

What we tend to work through
These are the kinds of things that bring Irish founders and owner-operators to me:
- The business works, but it feels heavier than it should
- You are the constraint on the business, and you know it
- Burnout, or closer to it than you'd like to admit
- Decisions that don't feel clear or clean
- Hitting the ceiling of the Irish market, without a clear next move
- A team growing faster than you can lead it
- Conversations you're avoiding, but need to have
- Nobody you can talk to honestly, because it's a small country
- Carrying too much, for too long
- Working harder for less momentum
- Losing sight of what you actually wanted from this
- Knowing there's more, but not getting to it
You don't need all of these to be true.
But if several of them are, it's usually a sign something needs looking at properly.
What Clients Tend To Say A Few Months Into The Work
- “Things feel so much lighter. I didn’t realise how heavy everything had become.”
- “I’m making better decisions, and making them faster.”
- “I’m finally having the conversations I’d been avoiding.”
- “I’m not second-guessing myself all the time. I trust my judgement again.”
- “The business doesn’t depend on me being in every room.”
- “I’ve stopped tolerating things I know aren’t right.”
- “I feel more present, at work and at home.”
- “I’m getting more done, but it feels calmer.”
- “I’m actually enjoying what I’ve built.”

What Clients Say About The Work
Most of this work happens quietly and in confidence. These are the clients happy to talk about it.
“My income has doubled and my free time has doubled too. “
Dr Jess, The UK's Leading Natural Doctor.
“I feel like a completely different person now”
Lucy Claire Dunbar, British Artist, Designer, and Bestselling Author.
“I'm working less now and getting so much more out of my business.”
Dan Waites, World Renowned Astrologer.
“I feel so much more proactive, more decisive and in control of my life.”
Andrew Haworth, Hotelier & Property Developer
Ready to talk it through?
On the other side of this work things tend to feel clearer, lighter and more manageable. Decisions take less effort. The noise settles. Momentum returns without the constant push.
Sometimes one conversation is enough. Other times it’s the start of longer work. Either way we begin by talking it through and being honest about whether I’m the right person for it.
Step 1
Tell me where you’re at
A short form: your business, roughly what stage it’s at, and what’s prompting you to look for support now.
This is genuinely useful before we speak. It also means I can tell you early if I’m not the right fit, rather than after a call.
Step 2
A conversation, over video
This isn’t a sales call.
It’s a relaxed, honest conversation to work out whether this makes sense. We’ll talk through what’s happening for you, what you’re looking for, and whether I’m the right person to support you.
If I am, I’ll explain the options and the investment clearly and answer whatever you want to ask.
Step 3
Decide, either way
If it feels right on both sides, we’ll agree the next steps and begin.
If not, I’ll point you toward other people or resources that may suit you better. Either way you’ll leave the conversation with more clarity than you arrived with.
